Day 1

Punta Arenas- City Tour - Puerto Natales

 

Arrival and reception at the airport and transfer to the beautiful city of Punta Arenas, one of the world's southernmost city in the afternoon visit the city of Punta Arenas where we will visit its main attractions which include the monument to the shepherd, the viewpoint of the Cross and cathedral hill, then we will go by bus to Puerto Natales. Reception in the bus Station and private transfer to our Hotel Welcome dinner and briefing for our guide

Day 2

Puerto Natales - Torres del Paine- Refugio Serón

 

Early in the morning drive in the national park Torres del Paine as we walk our path will begin to see different species that inhabit the area as rheas, guanacos and geese, after 2 hours we reach the park where we will register and will travel to at Refugio las Torres.

We will begin our excursion in direction to campsite Serón, along the east side of the Paine Massif. We will cross expansive pampas, beautiful forests and rivers. We will have ample opportunities for birdwatching and get to know some of the local species of trees, flowers and animals. We will walk into the valley of Paine River on a flat pampa fully covered by daisies in springtime and summer. We will spend the night in tents at Camp Serón after eating a nutritious dinner cooked by the guide (Option B Dinner in Refuge Seron.)

Day 3

Refugio Seron- Refugio Dickson

 

After breakfast in camp we will hike to Camp Dickson. We will walk on undulated terrain along the north-east side of the Massif. After the “Paso de los Vientos” (Windy pass) we will start to see a wide array of the Park’s mountains seen from north: Tridente, Escudo and Cabeza del Indio.

We will walk along the Lake Paine and Paine River until reaching Lake Dickson. This lake is fed by Glacier Dickson, a very important one regarding the hydrologic system of the Park. We are camping at Camp Dickson; dinner will be served inside the Refugio.

Day 4

Refugio Dickson – Camping Los Perros.

 

We will hike to the Valley Los Perros, through an old-growth beech forest (Nothofagus pumilio & N. betuloides). Throughout the day we will see amazing views of wild nature and be immersed in this especially tranquil area of the Park. We will be able to admire Glacier Dickson behind us, and mountains like Escudo and Trono Blanco in front of us. We will walk along the River Los Perros that leads to a blue hanging glacier with a milky green lake at its base.

From this spot it is possible make out the John Gardner high mountain pass, that will be our challenge for the following day. We will spend the night at Camp Los Perros just round the corner of the glacial moraine, and there we will enjoy a camp-cooked dinner.

Day 5

Camping Los Perros- Paso John Garner- Grey Refuge

 

Very early in the morning after a good breakfast, we will begin our hike through wind-stunted evergreen beech forests, ascending towards Pass John Gardner (1.300m/4,100ft), well above the tree line.

Once arrived there, we may be able to enjoy the most amazing views of Glacier Grey flowing down from the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the many surrounding snowy peaks of the Andes. Hiking down from the Pass to the level of Lake Grey will be done through a trail within beautiful beech forests again.

In the afternoon after a well-deserved lunch stop, we will be hiking in open terrain that allows breathtaking views of Glacier Grey.

We will finally reach the Lake and Refugio Grey where we will spend the night and enjoy dinner.

Day 6

Grey Refuge- Lodge Paine Grande

 

On this day we will have the option to do the glacier hike on Glacier Grey, which we need to coordinate with the ice-hike guide the night before.

This extra excursion is done in the morning (from 8.30 am to 1:00 pm) and has a cost of around US$160 per person. If you choose not to do the hike you can wait for the rest of the group relaxing or hiking around Refugio Grey.

After lunch we will hike the trail along the eastern shore of Lake Grey heading south. We will have great views of the countless snowy peaks of the Andes which hold the Southern Patagonian Ice Field and the many glaciers that flow down from it, as well as views of the Olguín Range and Mt. Paine Grande (3.500m/10,000ft) on the side of the Massif. The trail will lead us to open terrain that overlooks lake Grey, allowing us views of its greenish grey waters in contrast with deep blue, floating icebergs.

Once we see lake Pehoé of deep turquoise waters, we will be a half hour away from our final destination for the day. We will spend the night and have dinner at Lodge Paine Grande.

Day 7

Paine Grande Lodge- French Valley – Refugio Los Cuernos

 

Today we begin our trek with beautiful view of the Massif Paine, our first trek will be in front of Paine Grande Mountain, after almost 2 hours hike we can appreciate the Italian camp, at this point we´ll leave their backpacks and start the climb with only a small backpack (with water, food and a jacket).

The climb starts on the French River Valley up to the Mirador del Glacier French (1.5 hrs), then continued the climb along the path until you reach the "British Camp" and then the "Mirador del Valle del Frances" which offers one of the most impressive of all National Park: Hills: Paine Grande, Cathedral Road, Mask, Sword, Shark Fin and North Horn is possible to observe from this vantage point where we will enjoy our box lunch with a superb view of Torres del Paine National Park, after that we return our path and we will border to Lake Nordenskjold and then introduce into forest Coigues Lengas, finally we´ll get to Campamento Los Cuernos. Day 8

Refugio Los Cuernos - Refugio Las Torres

 

After a hearty breakfast with a beautiful view This day will move from the side of Mount Almirante Nieto and Lake Nordenskjold this smooth plains surrounded by Ñirres (shrub typical of Patagonia) if we are lucky in our walk we will see some guanacos and condors.

During the trip we will see Lake Nordenskjold, hanging glaciers and local flora as "Ciruelillo" or "Notro"which from the month of December has characteristics red flowers. After 4 to 5 hours of walking, Horns reach the area, which is considered by many one of the friendliest hostels around the circuit.

Day 9

Refugio Las Torres- Base de Las Torres- Puerto Natales

 

Breakfast in the refuge, our last day we will begin our trek through Ñirres, Lengas and Coigues up through Ascencio valley, after 2 hours we´ll get to Campamento el Chileno, el first point to rest next to Ascensio River, the second part of our trek is between Coigues and Lengas between  Mount Paine Chico and his beautiful glacier and Ascensio River, finally we must up the "morrena" for 45 minutes before to get  to the base of the towers , here we observe the 3 giant granite towers (2,850 Torre Di Agostini -2800 Torre Central -2450 Torre Monzino), we have a time for photos and to enjoy our snack before returning to our Refuge where our van will waiting for us Private Transfer to Puerto Natales. Arrive at 22:00 hrs .Dinner

Day 10

Puerto Natales -Balmaceda and Serrano Glacier

 

Breakfast at the hotel and start a wonderful navigation along the fjord of Ultima Esperanza to the Glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano. On the way, we can see colonies of sea lions and cormorants until you reach the glaciers Balmaceda and Serrano, where moor at the dock of Puerto Toro, walking 1,000 meters, through a wonderful native forest and the shore of lake to front beautiful Serrano glacier, we will have time to take multiple pictures and appreciate the beautiful place we will return the ship to line up to the Balmaceda glacier, beautiful hanging glacier located on Mount Balmaceda (2,222 mts) after these beautiful views we head to Perales where we can enjoy a delicious lunch meat Patagonico.

Finally we start the return to Puerto Natales where we will arrive at 17:00 approx. Transfer to our Hotel.
